Season’s are like that. We expect to be cold in the winter, hot in the summer. We expect leaves to grow in the spring and change color in the fall. When there is a hot day in the winter, we are thrown for a loop. Snow in May? Well, that’s more than just a little confusing. The more we live, the more we realize things aren’t so neat and tidy. The season’s aren’t so set in stone. Sometimes a season lasts forever.
Kitten season is like that. At one time it always seemed to be so tidy, so limited. But as we all know, it’s not so limited. Kitten season is no longer a set period in time, it is a year long season. As you read this, there is a litter of kittens being born somewhere close, and somewhere unsafe. And the battle to end having a litter of kittens born in a field or woods without any chance of survival is a fight we wage each and every day.
So, FFRC took on a huge battle this year. As it has done since it began, making sure all cats brought to FFRC are ‘fixed’ before they are adopted, FFRC decided to expand the goal to help spay or neuter cats throughout the Defiance, Ohio area . That challenge is now not just to ensure all FFRC are spayed or neutered, it’s a call to arms to help others control the cat population, so that there are no kittens born in the woods, with little chance for survival.
That challenge, that road chosen takes commitment and costs an enormous amount of money. The fund set up is now depleted.
So let’s have a Fun-raiser! Let’s help FFRC help others spay and neuter all cats.Starting Monday August 22nd, thru Thursday, August 25th at 9:00 a.m. Thursday night during boxes around 6:00 p.m. we’ll have more the results of the fun-raiser!
You can buy as many tickets for as many items as you want! Suggested donation is $5.00 to have fun and raise funds to continue on the road to spay or neuter for all cats.
Pay by paypal, or check. In the instructions line for paypal, be sure to put the Letter of the item (s) you want. There are 8 items, lettered A thru H. You can buy as many tickets you want, for as many items you want. It’s all to help a very worthy cause. Let’s say you want to donate $25 to buy 3 tickets for Letter A and two tickets for Letter C, just state on the instructions just that.

And finally, if you can’t buy any tickets, please don’t feel bad. Your support of FFRC comes in so many ways. So many ways to do good and see good. Thank those who donated or made these wonderful items. Thank those who buy the tickets. Go in chat and say a simple thank you to all. Don’t complain about the ads on ustream. The challenge of getting all cats ‘fixed’ is daunting. But some day we will see a new season emerge; a season where there are no emergency calls in the middle of the night because a litter of kittens have been found by a road, begging to be saved.
