And here is Susie's poem:
Suzie is a Grand Ol'Dame
Suzie paces back and forth, and paces back again
Her step a little lighter, tho her toes are still in pain
You still can see her sadness, her loss is in her face
But she seems to be a thinkin, this ain't a half bad place
The food is all so tasty here, and treats are even more
The folk here are all kindly, true cat people at core
So Tho I miss you Mama, Jessie and I are fine
And I am sure we will fit in, just give it a little time
It's clear that age is repected here and not a bit dispised
As I have heard it is - in other places far and wide
But here a Grand Ol Dame like me can live her peacful years
And calmly teach the little ones, until her own time nears
At twenty-eight I doubt not that time is coming on
But don't you be a worry yet, I still feel plenty strong
There's still a glint in these old eyes, a twich in this old tail
And when my paws are healed up some, you'll see I'm not so frail
I always was a spunky one, not one to laze about, like some
So don't you be surprised one day, when you might see me run
Ok, Ok, that may be a push, a little wish-o-the whiskers
But give a Grand Ol Dame her due and you will share in her whispPurrs
