This is the 1st Poem I wrote for FFRC - in order to not flood the creative posts - i will post one a day till caught up - then as I write them - FFRC inspires so many here, writers, poets, artists, crafters - I am just 1 of many in this Nation

Thank you Sweet D-Man

It’s the day after Christmas, and I’m sick as a dog
A long lasting fever has my head in a fog
But boredom is winning over sleep finally
So I hopped onto Ustream to look and to see

I usually watch Eagles – majestic and proud
Or maybe a flash-mob (if it isn’t too loud)
But this day was special, though I did not know
It was the day I found Jacci, and sweet Derecho

It took all of 5 minutes and one waggly walk
My heart it was taken – how could I balk
I immediately knew, what was wrong with his gait
See I have had kitties with CH, it was fate

So much like my Georgie and Lisa McCat
Who lived long full lives, despite of all that
Georgie loved swimming and Lisa climbed trees!
And to think I had been told there was no use for these.

So seeing young D, in his full swagger glory
Kept me here long enough to get the whole story
Of Jacci, and this magical place she created
Where kitties have rights and never get crated

Warm food in their tummies, and medical care
Belly rubs, scratches, and toys are all there
Buddies to play with and towers to climb
And forever homes found, when comes their time

So thank-you sweet D-man, a debt I owe you
For finding this center, and Jacci, and crew
Each days brings new wonders and love overflows
So I Thank you Sweet D-man – for more than you knows.
