Bondi's Final Welcome (in 5 Parts and complete)

Post by FaithyMD » Wed Nov 06, 2013 8:46 pm

Bondi's Final Welcome

The last thing she remembered
Was Mama Jacci's loving face
And her sweet sweet kisses
Then she was in this place

Here lots of animals gathered
And lots of people too
She watched as they each met up
Going off now, two by two

An old man then approched her
And called her by her name
And tho he was a stranger
Her Welcome gladly came

“You are Heaven's daddy?”
She asked but somehow knew
He just nodded and sat down
“Mind if I wait with you?”

And so the strangers sat there
In silent comfort's ease
They watched the far horizon
Each sharing their own peace

While the two sat waiting
In watch for her white fur
They noticed all around them
A sound of many purrs

Other people passing
Turned to see the sight
Adding in their murmurs
Toward the ending of day's light

There she was – His Heaven!
He knelt to take her in
She ran right up to greet him
They hardly heard the din

These two are reunited
This time to never part
The bridge aglow was calling
It was time to get their start

The man, remembering Bondi,
Turned his head her way
“Are you coming with us?
I am sure it is Ok”

Bondi paused a moment
But shook her head at last
“No, you go on together.
I have another task”

The man and Heaven noted
All those that gathered near
And so they passed on over
Without further word or care

What they saw were others
Ones that passed before
Rescurers and Catlovers
Chatters and still more

One last look behind them
Saw Bondi in her Bowl
To welcome all who took a part
In saving every soul

Bondi woke up early
This was a special day
There was a very special soul
Passing by this way

Of all of those she'd greeted
With comfort, peace and love
Paul's coming was momentous
As he was a cut above

She gathered all the kitties
She gathered all the dogs
She gathered horses, goats,
Even came birds and frogs

Bondi made sure everyone
Had found a proper place
So each and every one
Would see his loving face

Just as all got settled
And Bondi took her post
There he was among them
Paul smiled at his host

“Well hello there Bondi,
I see you've taken charge
But you gathered up too many
This crowd is way too large”

“Oh Paul for all your mighty size
You're heart was bigger still
And all of those who gather here
Do so of their own will

Your merry eyes and laughter
Your tendency to tease
Have touched so many many more
Than even such as these

Did you not know your power?
Not see what all else could?
Despite your 'bad boy' image
All knew that you were good

Seldom was a truer friend
Or man of better worth
Ever loved by anyone
that walked upon the Earth”

Paul lingered there long among them all
And felt at peace in his heart
He joked and laughed with everyone
Until it came time to part

Bondi came to him and said,”Now Paul
You have lingered here too long
And though we all love seeing you
You're staying with us is wrong

For this is the side of the bridge
For those us us who wait
But you are able to cross
That is your human fate”

Just as Bondi had finished
The bridge began to glow
The light grew ever brighter
Till it lit up all below

Out of the glow came a figure
He knew her at once, his wife
He ran to her, and she to him
The great loves of each life

He put his great arms about her
Reunited at long last
And with one more scratch for Bondi
Arm in Arm they passed

Faithy, thank you so very much for posting all of your heartwarming poems here for us. I haven't read them before, as I don't do Facebook or Chatters Group. My eyes are not up to FB or many other things now.
The Bondi poems touched my heart and made me shed tears, both sad and happy tears. :thankyou2:

Welcome Home Bondi (the last installment)

Paul was sitting by Bondi
Both waiting there patiently
Both knew for whom they waited
So they waited quietly

Paul had come back often
Too often thought Bondi that day
But he felt it was important
So she always left him be

And it was not long they had sat
When Al bounded up the hill
And both of them happily greeted him
Both had known him so well

Al greeted both with Joy in his heart
So Happy to see his old friends
And he snuggled down between them
As he’d known he would at the end

As with so many others
Paul said come stay with me
And Al accepted happy
But had one condition you see

Bondi you Must come with us
There are others to greet the cats here
And it is time my love
That You get to rest and take cheer

Tho Paul had always offered
Bondi had always said No
But when Big Al said it was time
She finally agreed to go

The three of them crossed together
Joy seen in the twitch of their tails
And Bondi was finally Welcomed
And thus is ended her tale
