Carpet Cleaning

After reading all of the hype and hoopla from various commercial carpet cleaners, I'm more confused than ever!!
I'm looking for a pet safe carpet cleaning company. I have 2 inky furbabies and would not want anything bad to happen to them because of chemicals left on my carpets after cleaning. In the past I have cleaned them myself. But, due to conditions beyond my control, I am unable to do that any more. Any and all suggestions and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
